Our Work

KCH + Barts

We co-created an iOS app for KCH and The Royal London Hospital (Barts) Gastroenterology Departments for the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) condition. The two trusts are teaching hospitals and are two of the busiest in the UK. The app was designed with the whole nation in mind, co-creating and testing it with gastroenterologist consultants at the two trusts prior to rolling it out to Gastroenterology departments across 100 trusts in the UK.

United Medicine

United Medicine revolutionises Evidence Based Medicine (EMB)- the practice of placing evidence from clinical research at the heart of medicine and patient care. They believe that “the current volume of information is vast, the quality inconsistent and the way it’s created and shared is outdated.” Our challenge was to provide medical practitioners with the most efficient, advanced yet easily accessible method of knowledge exchange for healthcare professionals.

Kingston Hospital HR

We have been approached by the Human Resource Department of Kingston Hospital to help them fashion a solution that caters to their staff more efficiently and proactively. With almost 3000 staff members, managing employees’ needs, questions, appointments, and where they get relevant information from can be a daunting task. The solution to the HR Department’s problem was AskHR – an iOS and Android app that act as a hub for the hospital’s staff members. The HR Department at Kingston Hospital aims to test out the app within their facility for a short-term period before rolling it out to HR departments in other trusts across the UK.

King’s College Hospital – RD

Around 10 million people in the UK have a form of arthritis. Treating the condition early-on may prevent further damage, improve long-term functionality and increase the likelihood of disease remission. One of the main challenges that the KCH – Rheumatology consultants that were heading the project were faced with was getting information to and from the patients. They were on the quest of finding a uniform and efficient solution across all RD departments in the UK that can be used by all patients and doctors. After some focus groups, it became apparent that touch screen technology was easier than paper based questionnaires for people with arthritis. The consultants were looking to increase patient engagement with the hospital and the doctors that were treating them. They were looking to improve patient care and reporting. They also recognised that elderly patients found it difficult to collate the various sets of information linked to their health condition and wanted to provide a solution to this problem.

Boehringer Ingelheim

Boehringer Ingelheim came to us with the challenge of raising awareness of the rare chronic lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). IPF is a rare and misunderstood disease that currently has no cure and limited treatment options. For patients with IPF, every breath counts. 80% of lungs with IPF sound like Velcro being separated. The Sounds of IPF app helps doctors learn about the unique “Velcro crackles” commonly heard in patients’ lungs. This practice helps doctors recognize IPF sounds.
